位于苏北里下河腹部的建湖，以她特有的文化底蕴，孕育了一枝独秀的文艺奇葩——盐城市杂技团。
建湖县是全国杂技发祥地之一，早在唐初，这里“百戏”（杂技）就十分兴盛。解放前后，“建湖十八团”杂技艺术曾在海内外享有盛誉。一九五七年，盐城市杂技团正式问世，该团多次参加省、华东及全国杂技大赛，《对手顶碗》、《滚杯》、《软钢丝》、《春江花月》等节目先后在华东和全国获奖。《对手顶碗》被列入影片《杂技精英》，在海内外放映。专题片《杂技故乡新苗壮》、《沃土上的鲜花》先后在江苏和中央电视台播映。近年来，该团受国家文化部和江苏省政府委派，先后六次赴日本、加拿大、斯里兰卡、孟加拉、波兰、新加坡等国家访问演出和参加国际杂技节艺术交流活动，多次在省、市为国外来华官员、企业家招待演出。
盐城市杂技团几代人的努力，有过艰辛、更有过喜悦，有过彷徨、更有过荣耀。目前，他们正向更高层次的艺术领域迈进。他们坚持基本功与节目功同时训练、公演节目与攻尖节目一起上、业务技能与综合素质齐手抓的教学原则，培养出一批以少年为主体的杂技新人。
面对改革开放的良好机遇，盐城市杂技团决心以面向社会、面向未来、面向世界为目标，奋力拼搏，这朵杂技节之乡的民族艺术之花必将越开越艳。

－The Brief introduction Yancheng Acrobatic troupe
Yancheng lies in the hinterland of North Jiangsu. Out of her peculiar cultural baceground grows a beautiful flower—the acrobatic troupe of Yancheng City.
Jianhu County, Yancheng City, is one of the birthplaces of acrobatics, At as early as the beginning of tang Dynasty, “Baixi”(acrobatics) was very popular here. Around the founding of New China, the acrobatic troupe of Yancheng came into being ,the troupe has joined in many acrobatic competitions of the province, East China and the whole country .The programes, such as “Balancing bowison the head”, “Rolling cups”, “Softing wile”, “Spring rivers with bright moon” and so on have heen showen on jiang su TV and CCTV . in recent years, appointed by countries, such as Japan,Canada, Srilanka,Banladesh,Poland,Singapore and so on, for a visit and an exchange of acrobatic arts. many times it put on perfornances for foreign officials and enterprisers in the proveince and city.
After several generations of hard work, Yancheng acrobatic troupe has experienced hardship, joy, hesitation but more glory, Now they’re striding forward towards the higher goal of arts. They adhere to the teaching principle of practising basic skills and progranne skills at the same time,preparing performing programmes and highly sophisticated items together,and emphasizing both professional skills and comprehensive quality.By this means they have trained many acrobatic youngstors.
With the excellent chance of reformation and open polity, Yancheng Acrobatic Troupe is working hard towards the goal of the future and the world.
